Dr Hitendra Ahooja completed his basic medical training in 1996 from J.L.N. Medical College, Wardha, Maharashtra. He completed his post-graduation training in ophthalmology from Government medical college, Nagpur, on 2001 and Maharashtra and fellowship in cornea and anterior segment from L V Prasad eye institute, Hyderabad in 2004.

He has extensive experience is cataract surgery, corneal surgeries like full thickness and lamellar corneal transplantation, trauma management, Keratoconus surgeries; other anterior segment surgeries and ocular surface surgeries and refractive surgeries like LASIK and phakic IOLs.

He has been instrumental in setting up and maintaining the first eye bank in south Haryana in association with Niramaya charitable trust.

He has presented his work in many state and national conferences. His special interests are in cataract, refractive surgery and corneal diseases.
